Howard E. Mayes
CONTINENTAL - Howard E. Mayes, 69, of Continental, died at 6:20 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 at Twin Rivers Center in Defiance. He was born September 13, 1943 in Defiance to the late Overton V. and Martha (Morris) Mayes. On May 11, 1963 he married Judy Shirey and she survives in Continental.
Also surviving are 2 children: Sara (Doug) Kisseberth of Jenera and Gene (Michelle) Mayes of Lexington, KY; 4 grandchildren: Brandon (Cathi) Kisseberth, Mikayla Mayes, Elijah Mayes, and Mckenzy Mayes; and 2 sisters: Juanita Sullivan of Vero Beach, FL., and Mildred (Al) Weddle of Albuquerque, NM.He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law: Lloyl Sullivan.
Howard retired in 2006 from Cooper Hatchery after 40 years. He was a member of Twin Oaks United Methodist Church, Oakwood.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Twin Oaks United Methodist Church, Oakwood with Pastor Eric Dailey officiating. Burial will be at a later date in North Mt. Zion Cemetery, Rice. Visitation will be from 12 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Fund University of Toledo Medical Center #275 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
