Ida M. Velasquez

LEIPSIC - Ida M. Velasquez, 59, of Leipsic died 1:15 a.m., Sunday, September 13, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family.  She was born July 17, 1961 in Edinburg, TX to Eduardo and Delia (Gallegos) DeLaRosa.  Her mother is deceased.  Her father survives in Leipsic.

Other survivors include three children: Trisha (Jason Schroeder) Velasquez of Ottawa, Roxanne (Erick Gossman) Velasquez of Lima and Joseph Velasquez of Kalida; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; and seven siblings: Rodolfo DeLaRosa of Ottawa, Irene (Mark) Factor of Ottawa, Eduardo DeLaRosa Jr. of Fremont, Richard DeLaRosa of Kentucky, Dan (Norma) DeLaRosa of West Leipsic, Sylvia DeLaRosa of Leipsic and Sandy (Rick) Moyer of Leipsic.

Ida had worked at Hearthside Foods in McComb.  She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church.  Family meant everything to Ida and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She also loved to cook.

A funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. William Pifher officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  In keeping with the social distancing guidelines, visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic as well as one hour prior to the mass Wednesday at The Parish Life Center, Leipsic.  There will be a prayer service on Tuesday at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m.  Due to the restrictions of COVID 19 face masks are required upon entering the funeral home and/or church.

Memorial donations may be given to the Putnam County Cancer Assistance Program (CAP) or The Leipsic Community Center.
