Irby Steven Perry

DEFIANCE – Irby Steven Perry, 72, of Defiance, passed away at 11:38 p.m., Friday, November 17, 2023 at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN.  He was born March 15, 1951, in Elizabethton, TN to Harley and Iva (Gregg) Perry.  His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Continental.

Other survivors include his companion, Alvera Cass of Leipsic; three siblings: Jeff Perry of Marion, Regina Harshman of Continental and Karen Perry of Punta Gorda, FL; and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a great-great-niece.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Allen Perry.

Irby retired from former Defiance Metal Products, where he had worked in tool and dye manufacturing. He had also worked for GM, Defiance, Continental EMS and the volunteer Fire Department. Irby was a US Marine veteran who served during the Vietnam War and was a life member of Ohio AMVETS Post 1991, Defiance. He loved cars, car shows and spending time with his family.

No services will be held at this time.
