Irene R. Schroeder
Glandorf - Irene R. Schroeder, 83, of Glandorf died at 4:45 a.m. Saturday, July 4, 2015 at the Meadows of Ottawa surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 26, 1932 in Ottoville to the late Sylvester and Philomena (Mueller) Brinkman. On May 13, 1953, she married Alphonse J. Schroeder who died October 18, 1997.
She is survived by her children: Dennis Schroeder of Ottawa; Carol Selhorst and Cathy Diller both of Glandorf and Jeannie (Michael) Kramer of Ottoville; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; a sister: Mary Ann Stechschulte of Columbus Grove; a brother: Ralph (Doris) Brinkman of Ottoville; In-Laws: Mary Lou Brinkman of Glandorf, Alvin (Delores) Schroeder of Columbus Grove, Mary Ann Schroeder of Columbus Grove, Ruth Schroeder of Onstead, MI., Margaret Sebastian of Liverpool, NY., Mary Ida Schroeder of Kalida. Irene is also preceded in death by 2 sons-in-law: James Selhorst and Robert "Bob" Diller and a brother: John Brinkman.
Irene retired from Ottawa-Glandorf School where she worked in the cafeteria and throughly enjoyed it. She was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and its Altar Rosary Society and Ottawa's Senior Citizens. She enjoyed visiting the residents of the area nursing homes. She was an avid fair goer, where she enjoyed not only watching her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other participants show their projects. Throughout her life she not only prayed the rosary for her intensions, but for all those around her which brought her great peace. She enjoyed spoiling her grandkids with her homemade cinnamon rolls.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf, where Fr. Tony Fortman will be officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Glandorf at a later date. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where a parish rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be given to St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church or the charity of donor's choice.
