Irene Harshman

CONTINENTAL – Irene Harshman, 87, of Continental, passed away at 2:55 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Defiance Inpatient Hospice.  She was born September 7, 1935, in Toledo to the late Alexander and Elizabeth (La Banc) Asztalos.  She married Maurice Harshman, he preceded her in death on April 26, 1986.

Irene is survived by a son: Terry Harshman; four grandchildren: Trevor Harshman, Sara Harshman, Kellie Harshman, and Shannon (Dave) Cidle; a brother: Steve Asztalos; and a sister: Veronica Asztalos.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Joe Asztalos.

Irene retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation.   She was very involved in Christ United Methodist Church, Continental.  She was a member of the Continental American Legion Auxilary and Eastern Star.  Irene was also involved in and enjoyed the Continental Library.

Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Christ United Methodist Church, Continental with Rev. Doug Flinn.  Burial will follow at Monroe Cemetery, Continental.  A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental.
