Irene M. Miller

OTTOVILLE - Irene M. Miller, 100, went to be with her Lord on August 21, 2018 at The Meadows of Delphos. She was born July 10, 1918 in Ottoville to the late Alex E. and Jennie (Gast) Miller.

Those left to celebrate her memory and life are her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Miller of Ottoville and thirteen nieces and nephews, Tony (Pam) Ratterman, Jennifer (Denny) D'Arienzo, Jim (Pam) Ratterman, Peggy (Steve) Lemberg, Mark (ReAnn) Ratterman, Bruce (Judy) Koty, Nanette (Jeff) Flynn, William (Mary) Koty, J.J. Miller, Patty (Randy) Schwab, Jim (Beth) Miller, Mary Jo (Russ) Kerlin, and Lynne (Dave) Waters. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Alex "Bud" and John Miller; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane and Walter Koty and Ruth and Emmett Ratterman; and a nephew, Mike Miller.

Irene was interested in many things and was always ready to learn something new. She was a graduate of College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati. She was the bookkeeper and co-owner along with her brother Alex "Bud" of J.J. Miller Company and Village Market in Ottoville. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Irene had a deep faith life and love for Jesus. She was a world traveler for much of her life. She was an avid reader, did needlepoint, loved to play cards, especially bridge, and played tennis into her early 70's. Irene started the Jennie A. Gast-Miller Scholarship at Ottoville High School and supported many charities during her life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with the Very Reverend Jerome Schetter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.  Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where there will be a Scripture Service at 1:45 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Jennie A. Gast-Miller Scholarship Fund at Ottoville High School.
