Jack O. Pipes CONTINENTAL – Jack O. Pipes, 90, of Continental, passed away at 4:20 a.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the Meadows of Kalida. He was born October 2, 1934, in Zionsville, IN, to the late William and Nettie (Crosby) Pipes. On June 30, 1957, he married Peggy L. Browning, she survives in Continental. Other survivors include four children: Michael (Joy) Pipes of Greenwood, IN, Jackie Pipes, Vickie (Joe) Kirk, and Shellie Moran, all of Continental; ten grandchildren: Chad (Ashley) Spear, Jason (Heather) Spear, Keisha (Miguel) Nunez, Nicole (Morgan) Spooner, Sarah Tice, Lauren (Dan) Benham, Hollie (Julie) Herr, Shawn (Michelle) Herr, Hannah Pipes, and Gunner Pipes; thirty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister: Janet (Bill) Jones of Jamestown, IN. He is preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jim Moran; a sister, Marilyn (Buster) Rogers; a brother, John Pipes and great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Hurley. Jack retired from TDS, where he was a Regional Marketing Manager. He served in the Navy Reserves and was a member of the American Legion Post 541, Continental. Jack was also a member of the Continental Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Roachdale, IN, and a Murat Shriner. He was an avid golfer. Surpassing his love of clubs, golf, and activities, was the love for his family. He and his wife's home were a hub for holiday gatherings, a summertime swim in the lake, a sleepover with Grandma and Grandpa, a multitude of meals, and a source for advice or a shoulder to cry on. All were treated with equal amounts of love, respect, and hugs. It would be amiss if we didn't mention Jack's signature: his amazing sense of humor. Little babies to the elderly enjoyed his comedic sense of timing, hilarious expressions, and his limitless catalogue of jokes and funny stories. This was certainly a gift from God. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Pastor Chris Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Monroe Cemetery, Continental. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
