FORT JENNINGS – Jacqueline M. "Jackie" Trenkamp, 92, of Fort Jennings, passed away at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Meadows of Kalida. She was born March 12, 1931, in Fort Jennings the late Felix "Nip" and Flora "Flo" (Kershner) Calvelage. On February 3, 1951, she married August "Augie" Trenkamp, he preceded her in death on January 17, 2012.
Jackie is survived by four children: Deborah (Jeff) Rostorfer of Elida, Carl (Chris) Trenkamp of Fort Jennings, Linda (Randy) Brinkman of Delphos, and Lisa Buss of Kalida; nine grandchildren: Stacey Kramer, Michelle Webb, Mandy Mosely, Abby Nichols, Jason Brinkman, Kelly Kunz, Sheena Schwartz, Bryan Recker, and Courtney Buss; two step-grandchildren: Nate Rostorfer and Josh Rostorfer; seventeen great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerhard "Dutch" Calvelage; three sisters, Ruth Broecker, Betty Stanz, and Mary Calvelage; grandson, Cory Trenkamp; and a great-great-grandson, Walker Burgei.
Jackie was a homemaker and the wife of a farmer. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings. She was a 1949 graduate of Fort Jennings High School. She was a social member of Ottoville VFW and Delphos Eagles. Jackie never met a stranger. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and bowling. She spent summers at the lake and enjoyed watching grandkids in their activities.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings with Fr. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township with a scripture service at 7:45 p.m. and again on Thursday one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
