James Edward Augsburger
Ottawa – James Edward Augsburger, 76, of Ottawa, died 2:24 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Lima Memorial Health System. He was born November 17, 1936 in Bluffton, OH to the late Vernon and Odessa (Basinger) Augsburger. On October 11, 1958 he married Marilyn Tripplehorn, and she survives in Ottawa.
He is also survived by his daughter: Julie (Roger) Ricker of Columbus Grove; 5 grandchildren: Jessica (Dustin) Schooler, Jamestown, IN, Joseph (Elizabeth) Augsburger and Steven Augsburger, both of Greenwood, IN, Alexis Ricker and Cody Ricker, both of Columbus Grove, OH; great-grandson: Johnathan Augsburger of Greenwood, IN and four sisters: Margaret (Marvin) Miller of Bowling Green, OH, Grace (J. D.) Burkhart, Marilyn Augsburger and Janice Augsburger all of Pandora.
He is preceded in death by a son: John Augsburger; brother: Robert Augsburger; and sister: Edith Rayl.
James was a retired Welder at Superior Forge & Steel, Lima. He also was an OHSAA baseball umpire for 25 years and an avid Sprint car and NASCAR fan.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2012 at Pandora United Methodist Church, Pandora with his nephew, Pastor David Burkhart, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Woodland Cemetery, Beaverdam. Friends may gather for one hour prior to the service at church.
