James Ronald Bogard

Leipsic -- James Ronald Bogard, 87 of Leipsic died Saturday afternoon, May 20, 2017 at his residence.  He was born January 4, 1930 to the late Harry C. and Blanche "Ethel" (Norton) Bogard.  On November 27, 1954 he married Sally A. Russell, who survives in Leipsic.

Also surviving are his three children:  Amy (Marvin) Schroeder of McComb, Laura (Doug) Schroeder of Leipsic and Evan Bogard of Vandalia; 8 grandchildren:  April (Sam) Moening, Clint Schroeder, B. J. (Jackie) Schroeder, Deanna Schroeder, Emerson (April) Schroeder, Emma Bogard, Tony Bogard and Lou Bogard; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother:  Donald Bogard of Leipsic and a sister-in-law: Janette Bogard of Cement City, MI.

Jim is preceded in death by 3 brothers: Harry N. Bogard, John Bogard and Kenneth Bogard.

Jim was a member of First Lutheran Church, Leipsic.  He was a life member of Leipsic Hunting and Fishing Association.  He enjoyed music, camping, barbequing, genealogy and his 2 cats:  Zygy and Zeke.  He would fix, or try to fix anything, because he had Jim's Fix-it Shop and was talented in building and woodworking.

The funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME with Deacon Tom Niese officiating.  Burial will be at a later date in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and again Wednesday morning for one hour prior to the service.
