James L. "Bomber" Verhoff

LIMA – James L. "Bomber" Verhoff, 64, of Lima and formerly of Kalida, died 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the Meadows of Kalida.  He was born July 25, 1958 in Lima to the late Joseph H. and Marjorie (Selhorst) Verhoff.

He is survived by 6 siblings:  Jerry (Deanna) Verhoff of Kalida, Pat (Kevin) Rooney of Findlay, Janet (John) Berns of Jupiter, FL, Bob (Sandy) Verhoff of Ottawa, Greg (Cheryl) Verhoff of Lima and Joe Verhoff of Denver, CO and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Joe Verhoff.

James retired from Unverferth Manufacturing, Kalida, where he worked for 42 years.  He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida and a member of the Lima Eagles.  James was a big Cleveland fan and enjoyed following the Indians, Browns and Cavaliers.

The funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2023 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Father Nathan Bockrath officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. on Friday and 9 - 10 a.m. on Saturday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. A scripture service will begin at 3:45 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church for masses.
