James H. “Jim” Burk

CONTINENTAL – James H. “Jim” Burk, 75, of Continental, passed away at 6:11 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. He was born June 24, 1951, in Van Wert to the late Carl S. and Ramona (Arms) Burk. On January 30, 1993, he married LaDonna Beemer, who survives in Continental.

He is also survived by three stepchildren: Penny (William) Volkert and Kenny Peterson, both of Continental, and Dawn (Scott) Moore of Columbus Grove; five grandchildren: Devin Volkert, Nathan Peterson, Emmeline Peterson, Brandon Kern and Dylan Kern; and two brothers: Carl (Donelda) Burk of McClure and Rick (Shannon) Burk of Toledo.

Jim was a member of the Bryan First Assembly of God. He liked to do crossword puzzles and adult coloring books. He was an OSU Buckeye fan. Jim enjoyed all sports.

Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Sam Luthi officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental. A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
