FORT JENNINGS - James C. Fecker, 89, of Fort Jennings died 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at his residence.
He was born August 20, 1924 in Fort Jennings to the late Albert and Anna (Meier) Fecker.  On April 21, 1951, he married Jeanette M. Rahrig, who died September 21, 2007.
Survivors include two sons: Robert Fecker of Fort Jennings and Kenny (Karen) Fecker of Waldo; a daughter: Jan (Mike) Bockey of Delphos; four grandchildren: Ben (Joyce) Bockey, David (Tori) Bockey, Jenna Bockey, and Michelle (Jeremy) Britton; and nine great-grandchildren: Aaron, Zachery, Caleb, Emma, Daniel, and Ezekiel Bockey and Logan, Kyle, and Peyton Britton.
James was a long life farmer.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings and the American Legion in Fort Jennings for 60 years.  He was a WWII Navy veteran and he honored many fellow veterans as an American Legion Honor Guard throughout his life.  He was an avid card player, lifelong fisherman, enjoyed the company of his family and friends, and was especially proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings with Fr. Charles Obinwa officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by Fort Jennings American Legion.  Visitation will be Friday 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where a Rosary Service will be held at 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.
