James F. Galyk
CONTINENTAL – James F. Galyk, 59, of Continental died at 3:46 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. He was born June 5, 1952 in Waterloo, Iowa to Francis and Darlene (Patterson) Galyk. His father is deceased, his mother, now Darlene Shepard survives in Bellefontaine. On July 1, 1972 he married Mary Zimmerman, who survives in Continental.
Also surviving are 3 children: Samuel (Carrie) Galyk, Anthony (Morgan) Galyk, and Jessica Galyk, all of Continental; 3 brothers: David (Linda) Galyk of Ottoville, Frank (Marianne) Galyk of Ridgeway, and Steve (Linda) Galyk of Bellefontaine; a brother- in-law: Chet Marker of Bellefontaine; and 6 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was a sister: Joyce Marker.
James was maintenance director of Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Continental American Legion. He was a member of Continental United Methodist Church and was a 1970 graduate of Indian Lake High School.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at Heitmeyer Funeral Home in Continental with Rev. Charles Schmunk officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental with military graveside rites by Continental American Legion. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
