James L. Gillespie
LEIPSIC – James L. "Jim" Gillespie, 68, of Leipsic died at 7:37 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born November 1, 1943 in Findlay to the late James M. and Marcille E. (Houser) Gillespie. His stepfather, John Russell is also deceased. On June 22, 1968, he married Diane S. Steinman and she survives in Leipsic.  Also surviving are his two children: Troy (Karen) Gillespie of Leipsic and Traci (Greg) Hockenberry of Pittsburgh, PA; five grandchildren: Kelsie, Tyler, and Kaleb Gillespie, Camden and Cooper Hockenberry; and a brother: Larry (Sandy) Gillespie of Ottawa.
He was preceded in death also by a nephew: Brett Gillespie.
Jim dedicated 39 years of his life working for General Motors, Defiance.  He has spent the last few years working as a maintenance man for the Leipsic United Methodist Church where he was a lifetime member.  He was a 1961 graduate of Leipsic High School and a graduate of Stautzenberger College, Toledo.  He was hardworking, caring, loving, and dedicated to his family, friends, and work.  He had lived in Leipsic his entire life and will be missed by many.
Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2012 at Leipsic United Methodist Church with Pastors William Patterson and Tom Graves officiating.  Burial will follow in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at LOVE-HEITMEYER Funeral Home, Leipsic and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Cancer Assistance Program (c/o Putnam County Home Care and Hospice Auxiliary) or Leipsic United Methodist Church.
