James J. Heiing

OTTAWA - James J. Heiing, 79, of Ottawa, died Friday, April 28, 2017 at his residence.  He was born April 19, 1938 in Lima to the late Joseph and Gladys (Konst) Heiing.  On April 30, 1961, he married Helen Charlene Hamilton.  She died December 26, 2001.

Survivors include two daughters: Sandy (Roger) Webken of Glandorf and Debra (Steve Hall) Fogg of Van Wert; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Larry (Doris) Heiing of Ottawa; and four sisters: Jo Ann (Chuck) Schmelzer of CA, Jane Niese of Medina, Linda (Rich) Niese of Ottawa and Nancy Drummelsmith of Leipsic.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, William Heiing.

Jim retired from Ford Motor Company in Lima.  He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, Ottawa Eagles, U.S. Trotting Association, Ohio Harness Horsemen's Association and Leipsic Fish and Hunt.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
