James C. "Jim" Laudick
KALIDA – James C. "Jim" Laudick, 70, of Kalida died at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at his residence. He was born February 12, 1942 in Lima to the late Alphonse and Lucinda (Verhoff) Laudick. On September 11, 1965 he married Elaine Kuhlman who survives in Kalida.
Also surviving are 4 children: Gina (Joe) Erhart, Jon (Jill) Laudick and Brian (Kerry) Laudick all of Kalida and Melissa (Tom) Laudick Squeo of Worthington; 12 grandchildren: Zach, Connor, Luke, and Brooke Erhart, Jordan and Brady Laudick, Laine, Grant, and Lauren Laudick, Lily, Henry, and Eli Squeo; a brother: Don (Marie) Laudick of Kalida; and 2 sisters: Rita (Bill) Bellmann of Kalida and Alice (Jerry) Schroeder of Wadsworth.
Jim was retired from Tuttle Construction of Lima. During his retirement he worked for Country Acres Golf Course and enjoyed helping farm. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida; its Holy Name Society; and the Kalida Knights of Columbus. He served in the National Guard. Jim was an avid sports fan and a big follower of Kalida High School sports. He also enjoyed traveling with his family and friends and one of his greatest loves was following his grandchildren to all their events.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2012 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a Knights of Columbus service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and a scripture service at 6 p.m. on Thursday. Memorials may be made to Putnam County Home Care and Hospice or toward the wishes of the Laudick Family.
