James G. "Jim" Siefker

KALIDA – James G. "Jim" Siefker, 72, of Kalida died 7:55 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at St. Rita's Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf. He was born June 1, 1945 in Lima to the late Aloysius and Mary (Schroeder) Siefker. On January 14, 1966 he married Esther Schumaker who died September 17, 2004. On November 23, 2012 he married Joan Landin-Wierwille and she survives in Kalida.

Also surviving are five children, Greg (Lisa) Siefker, Gary (Rhonda) Siefker, Charlie (Heather) Siefker, Rose (Scott) Langhals all of Kalida, and Cindy (Eric) Verhoff of Glandorf; two stepsons, Eric (Christy) Dameron of Columbus and John (Kate) Wierwille of Atlanta, GA; five sisters, Helen Gerding of Ottawa, Eunice (Bernard) Pohl of Quincey, MI, Marie (Ron) Kuhlman, Jane Kleman, and Joan (Larry) Peck all of Kalida;  2 sisters-in-law, Cathy Siefker and Marilyn Siefker; and 16 Grandchildren, Alysha Verhoff, Samantha and Madison Langhals, Taylor, Jenna and Tyson Siefker, Kara and Adam Siefker, Aden Siefker, Hanna, Brennan, Makenna and Emmett Dameron; and Sara Kathryn, Leona Grace and Eloise Rose Wierwille.

Preceded in death by a son, Randy Siefker; 2 brothers, Tom Siefker and Dan Siefker; and Sister, Carol Ellerbrock; and 3 brothers-in-law, Virgil Ellerbrock, Joseph Gerding and Earl Kleman

Jim was a lifelong farmer and was President and CEO of Siefker Farms.  He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida.  He served in the National Guard.  Jim was a member of the Kalida Fish and Game Club and the Ottawa Eagles and the Columbus Grove American Legion.  He enjoyed eating out for dinner and spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He loved golf cart rides and working in his shed.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Father Mark Hoying officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
