James Hugh Jones
OTTAWA – James Hugh Jones, 75, of Ottawa died at 11:09 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born April 9, 1937 in Lima to the late Hugh and Lucile (Graham) Jones. On November 5, 1960, he married Imogene Gerding and she survives in Ottawa. Also surviving are 2 daughters: Lisa (Ned) Kreinbrink of Ottawa and Kay Jones of Ottawa; 5 grandchildren: Benjamin, Jessica and Amanda Kreinbrink; Alexandra and Wesley Blankemeyer. He was preceded in death by a sister: Carol Stechschulte.
Jim retired as maintenance supervisor at Brookhill Center Industries. He was also a life long farmer. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa; served in the Army National Guard and was a Putnam County Sheriff Auxiliary. He was a member of the Ottawa Eagles and Leipsic Rod and Gun Club. Jim skillfully restored antique tractors and was a fan of NASCAR and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating. His godchild, Jack Gerding, will perform the music. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Columbus Grove. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Monday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a scripture service at 2:30 p.m.
