James A. Price

OAKWOOD - James A. Price, 64, of Oakwood died at 8:41 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Toledo Hospital. He was born May 26, 1954 in Defiance to the late Doyle "Tub" and Helen Jean (Dunlap) Price. On April 4, 1992 he married Margaret "Peg" Essex who survives in Oakwood.

Also surviving are four children, Nathan (Becky) Essex of Bowling Green, Nicole "Pickles" (Larry)  Spencer of Ottawa, Cody Price of Thornton, CO, and Lucas (Tiffany) Price of Delphos; nine grandchildren and one on-the-way; three brothers, William "Bill" (Cindy) Price of Oakwood, Jerry (Mary) Price of Junction, and Ray (Lonnie) Price of Lima; a sister, Laura (Kevin) Frost of Ayersville; and honorary family members, Jack and Angel Walthour of Kokomo, IN and Scott and Roberta Walthour of Ottawa. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Noah Frost.

Jim was an animal nutritionist. He was a member of the Future Farmers of America in high school and raised sheep, cattle, and horses, and was the Oakwood Bobcat mascot. He was an Ohio State University Alumni.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood, with Pastor Stan Harmon officiating.  Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 12 to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to OSU Extension Office.
