James Richard Spangler

LEIPSIC – James Richard Spangler, 72, of Leipsic, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the Meadows of Leipsic. He was born July 10, 1950, in Lima to the late Paul and Lucille (Hermiller) Spangler.

James is survived by two sons: Christopher (Sara) Spangler of Leipsic and Brian (Renee) Spangler of Leipsic; five grandchildren: Ryley Spangler, Hunter Spangler, Conor Essinger, Catherine Essinger and Tyler Spangler; and two brothers: Dave (Marlene) Spangler of Leipsic and Dennis Spangler of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

He is also preceded in death by two sisters: an infant sister, Carol Ann Spangler and Donna Jean Morman.

James worked in construction and at Libby's. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic.  James was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. Steve Schroeder officiating.  Burial will be at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery, Leipsic.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Mary's Parish Life Center, Leipsic. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.
