Jane Schweller

Ottoville -- Jane Schweller, 91, of Ottoville, died 3:45 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2016 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born October 21, 1924, in Stark County, Ohio to the late Ertus J. and Edith (Bogard) Lewis. Jane married Carl B. Bendele in 1948 and he died September 13, 1962.  She then married Charles J. Schweller on September 28, 1963 and he died on August 14, 2007.

She is survived by seven children: Ronald (Mary Jean) Schweller of Ft. Jennings, Phyllis (Maury) Quillen of Shingle Springs, CA, Dennis (Vicky) Schweller of Union Mills, IN, Paul (Sherry) Schweller of Orofino, ID, Mary (Dave) Lengerich of Warsaw, IN, Jim (Bev) Schweller of Ottoville, Tina (Joe) Gallmeier of Delphos; seventeen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one son-in-law: Tommy Thompson of Lawrenceburg, IN.

She was preceded in death by a daughter: Linda Thompson; two brothers: Ralph and Richard Lewis; and one sister: Viola Pritchard.

Jane was a homemaker.  She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its former Altar Rosary Society, as well as a member of the Catholic Knights of Ohio.  She enjoyed going to her grandchildren's and Ottoville sporting events and working out at the Van Wert, YMCA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with The Very Reverend Jerome Schetter officiating, burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to service at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Twp, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Monday night.
