Obituary

Janelle A. Schroeder

OTTOVILLE - Janelle A. Schroeder, 67, of Ottoville passed away at 9:39 p.m., Monday, September 7, 2026, at Lima Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 5, 1959 to the late Bob and Ruth (Ellerbrock) Beining.

She is survived by her loving partner, Mike Osier of Ottoville; her four children: Jason (Bonnie) Schroeder of Ottawa, Todd (Brittany) Schroeder of Ottoville, Melissa (Jonathan) Allen of Chicago, IL, and Rodney (Ashley) Schroeder of Ottoville; her eight grandchildren: Nolan, Aiden, Ellie, Cruz, Nash, Henley, Weston, and Theo; and five siblings: Dick (Kathy) Beining, and Alan Beining, both of Ottoville, Joyce (Randy) Shaw of Las Vegas, NV, Doris Beining of Indianapolis, IN, and Chuck (Michelle) Beining of Cairo.

Janelle had retired from a hard-working life ranging from banking, to catering, to office administration in May of 2026. She was a member of the Indian Lake Moose Lodge, where she loved gathering with her family and friends, especially “Neighbor” Dan. She loved her time spent at Indian Lake with her family, grandkids, and friends, whether it be on the porch, or on the boat. She enjoyed watching the Buckeyes play football, despite Mike’s constant commentary, and listening to live music when she could. Janelle will be fondly remembered for always being supportive, always providing a listening ear, and always having some wisdom or a story to share. Her legacy will remain through her children and grandchildren, whom she always claimed were her most proud accomplishment.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township. Funeral services and burial will be held privately by the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Putnam County CAP.
