Janice Ann Stechschulte

KALIDA – Janice Ann Stechschulte, 59, of Kalida, passed away in her sleep at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2023. Janice was born on June 20, 1963 to the late Robert and Jo Ann (Clark) Brinkman. She married her "Lovey", Luke Stechschulte on December 10, 1988. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2017.

Janice is survived by her two children: Ben (Katie Streff) Stechschulte and Rachael (Vanessa Bello Chavez) Stechschulte; her beloved cat, Tink; her sister, Sandy (Ken) Buss; and four brothers: Roger Brinkman, Robert Brinkman, Donald Brinkman, and Steve Brinkman.

Janice enjoyed playing her hand in the slot machines, long drives around the countryside,  jamming to Queen and the Temptations, and John Denver. Growing up she had a keen eye for antiquing, often taking trips with her mother and sister to Amish country. Her cat Tink was her favorite companion. Most importantly, she loved spending her time with Luke, before his passing, especially on the back of his motorcycle. In her last year, she was able to celebrate the weddings of both her children.

Funeral Mass will begin 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Nathan Bockrath officiating. Janice will be buried at a later date with her late husband, Luke. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 16th and 9:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. on Friday, March 17th at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, in Ottawa, Ohio.
