Janice L. Busser

OTTAWA – Janice L. Busser, 87, of Ottawa, passed away at 1:33 p.m., Sunday, October 22, 2023 at The Meadows of Ottawa. She was born July 26, 1936, in Delphos to the late Elmer and Wanda (Murray) Gerding.  On February 22, 1958, she married David E. Busser.  He preceded her in death on December 30, 2008.

Survivors include three children: Jeannine Setser of Ottawa, Daniel Busser of San Dimas, CA and Theodore (Kim) Busser of Ottawa; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two siblings: Edward Gerding of Boca Raton, FL and Rosie (Norman) Gerdeman of Louisville, KY; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Leo.

She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ronald Setser; a daughter-in-law, Carol Busser; two siblings: Carol (Richard) Edelbrock and Michael Gerding; and a sister-in law, Susan Gerding.

Janice graduated from Sts. Peter and Paul High School, Ottawa. She attended the University of Dayton and was a Flyerette.  In 1976, she graduated from Kettering College with a nursing degree. She worked as a registered nurse at Sycamore Hospital in Miamisburg, OH.  She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa.  Janice was a very active member of  the Ottawa Senior Citizens Association.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
