LEIPSIC - Jeanette I. Klausing, 91, of Leipsic, died 5:15 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at The Cedars in Leo, IN. She was born February 2, 1925 in Columbus Grove to the late Clarence and Clara (Bendele) Miller. On July 4, 1944, she married Elmer J. "Snook" Klausing. He died March 2, 2016.
Survivors include four children: Kenneth (Jenice) Klausing of Ft. Wayne, IN, Barbara (Art) Samuells of Dix Hills, NY, Jerry (Sandra) Klausing of Ft. Wayne, IN and Annie (Marcus Alford) Day of Woodstock, GA; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bernice Candler of Columbus Grove.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert Miller and Irvine Miller; and a sister, Marjorie Klausing.
Jeanette worked along side her husband at the Oak Restaurant and Kildare Country Club both formerly of Ottawa. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic, its Altar Rosary Society and was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School. Jeanette loved sewing, gardening, playing cards with her husband as a master level bridge player, and reluctantly golfing.
A Mass of Christian burial will begin 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. William Pifher officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday as well as one hour prior to the mass Saturday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, LEIPSIC. A rosary service will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
