Jeanne E. Ahman

OTTAWA - Jeanne E. Ahman, 90, of Ottawa died 5:03 p.m., Thursday, March 2, 2017 at her daughter's residence in Dacula, GA.  She was born April 23, 1926 in Glandorf to the late Felix and Florence (Fenbert) Gulker.  On May 30, 1952, she married Frank P. Ahman.  He died December 22, 1984.

Survivors include five children: Dr. Tom (Cathy) Ahman of Lima, Anne (Jerry) Warnecke of Ottawa, Brian Ahman of St. Marys,  Mary Leigh (Paul) Wurth of Perrysburg and Tracy (Dan) Jerwers of Dacula, GA.

Thirteen grandchildren: Dr. Marcie (Dr. Dave) Flack, Kevin Ahman, Stephen Ahman (Bryan Gilbrech), Lisa (Evan) Schmidt, Kelly Ahman, Amy (Brian) Heebsh, Michael Warnecke, Sara (Ben) Meyer, 1st Lt. Michael (Capt. Brianna) Wurth, Robert Wurth, Katie (Chris) Jenkins, Molly (Josh) Hammitt and Emily Jerwers. Nine great-grandchildren: Owen, Keegan, Reed and Emery Flack; Alex, Eric and Lauren Heebsh; and Elle and Quinn Warnecke.

Two sisters:  Judy Weis (John Caskey) of Lawton, MI and Barbara Niese of Marion; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Gulker of Ottawa.  She was preceded in death by a brother, William Gulker; a sister, Marilyn Bruskotter; three brothers-in-law, Charles Bruskotter, Robert Weis and James Niese; and a grandaughter Michelle Ahman.

Jeanne retired after a long career teaching Jr. High Language Arts at Glandorf, St. Anthony and Sts. Peter and Paul Schools.  She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ottawa and St. Charles Catholic Church in Lima.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak and Fr. Kent Kaufman co-officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 2-8 p.m., Wednesday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa where a scripture service will begin at 7:50 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Putnam County Library or Sts. Peter and Paul School Endowment.
