JERRY L. GORDON
OTTAWA - Jerry L. Gordon, 79, of Ottawa, died 1:45 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital, Toledo.  He was born December 14, 1933 in New Philadelphia, OH to the late Willis and Bertha (Ball) Gordon.  On February 14, 1954, he married Janice Reichman and she survives in Ottawa.
Other survivors include 2 children: LeAnn (Steve) Carr of Pandora and Brian Gordon of Delphos; 5 grandchildren: Chloe Carr, Ryan Gordon, Torey Gordon, Hunter Gordon and Austin Gordon; and 2 sisters: Joanne (Tim) Kelly of New Philadelphia and Gail (Donald) McCreery of Dover.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Oliver Gordon.
Jerry was a banker and a driver for the Putnam County Council on Aging.  He was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, Ottawa where he served as a Sunday school teacher for teens, past Session Member and Chairman for the Building Committee for the new addition.  He was a US Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict.  A member of New Philadelphia Elks where he was past Exalted Ruler; member of New Philadelphia Free & Accepted Masons; President of Tawa Manor Board of Directors; President of Salvation Army Board of Directors; Putnam County Senior Citizen of the Year and 2011 Community Service Award winner along with his wife.
Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church, Ottawa with Rev. Jeanne Kumbalek officiating.  Burial will follow in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
