Jesus S. "Jesse" Hinojosa

LEIPSIC – Jesus S. "Jesse" Hinojosa, 75, of Leipsic, died 4:37 p.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  He was born September 23, 1943 in General Trevino, Mexico to the late Jesus M. and Maria (Salinas) Hinojosa.  On June 13, 1975, he married Vi Lanker and she survives in Leipsic.

Other survivors include five children: Jesus "Jesse" Hinojosa of Chicago, IL, Beatriz "Betty" (Jesus) Flores of Arizona, Juan (Stephanie) Hinojosa of Florida, Jorge (Gloria) Hinojosa of Chicago, IL, and Jose (Lorena) Hinojosa of Ottawa; two step-sons: Brent (Miriam) Gibson of Leipsic and Todd (Suzanne) Gibson of Holly Springs, NC; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Oscar Hinojosa of West Leipsic; a sister-in-law, Cristela Hinojosa of Leipsic; and very special dog, Rascal.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Josefina Rodrigues; a brother, Juan Hinojosa; and a sister-in-law, Martha Hinojosa.

Jesse retired form General Motors in Defiance as a Maintenance Supervisor.  He had worked for the Putnam County Sheriff Office as an Auxiliary Deputy and attended both North West Technical College and Defiance College.  Jesse was a member of Leipsic United Methodist Church and Greater Findlay Emmaus Community.  He was a Certified Lay Speaker and a former Sunday School Teacher.

Funeral service will begin 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Leipsic United Methodist Church with Pastor Ruth Carter-Crist and Pastor Laurie Beaty officiating.  Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., Monday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and one hour prior to the funeral Tuesday at the church.
