Jimmy Ray McMichael

CECIL – Jimmy Ray McMichael, 71, of Cecil, died 6:22 p.m., Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN.  He was born July 4, 1946 in Mark Center, Ohio to the late John "Gaylord" and Ruth B. (Bryan) McMichael.  On April 13, 1967, he married Nancy Jeanne Merriman and she survives in Cecil.

Other survivors include two sons: Jimmy Ray McMichael, Jr. of Paulding and Mike (Jen) McMichael of Cecil; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marceil Gordon of Cecil and Dinah Collins of Antwerp; and three brothers: Byron (Sue) McMichael of California, Olie McMichael and Tim (Shirley) McMichael both of Antwerp.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Bob McMichael, Dennie McMichael and Donald Rickels; and a sister, Isabel Reinhart.

Jimmy was a retired truck driver for Keller Trucking in Defiance.  He was a member of the Defiance Eagles, Bryan Eagles and Grover Hill VFW.  Jimmy enjoyed horse racing, wrestling, Ohio State University football, going to garage sales and thrift stores.

Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Oakwood.  Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
