Joan L. Lehman
MILLER CITY - Joan L. Lehman, 84, of Miller City, passed away at 2:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at The Meadows of Ottawa. She was born November 18, 1941, in Cloverdale to the late Bernard H. “Ben” and Donelda (Dickman) Horstman. On September 5, 1964, she married Carl Lehman, who survives in Miller City.
Other survivors include 8 children: Tim (Mary Ellen) Lehman, John (Dee) Lehman, both of Glandorf, Jim (Shelley) Lehman of Miller City, Nick (Chris) Lehman, Diane (Carl) Siefker, both of Glandorf, Karen (Matt) McCauley, Sharon (Greg) Kamphaus, both of Columbus Grove and Roger (Katie) Lehman of Glandorf; 24 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 6 siblings: Larry Horstman, Jerome (Emma) Horstman, Len (Mary Jo) Horstman, Denny (Chris) Horstman, all of Cloverdale, Janet (Walter) Maag of Leipsic and Ruth Foppe of Kalida; 2 brothers-in-law: Norb (Irene) Renner and Arthur Rode; and in-laws: Annette (Bob) Meyer.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 3 siblings: Helen Renner, Patricia Rode and Donald (Eileen) Horstman; a brother-in-law, Ron Foppe; a sister-in-law, Judy Horstman; and in-laws: Alvera (Fred) Verhoff, Donna Marie (Barney) Ellerbrock and Joe (Janet) Lehman.
Joan was a loving mother and faithful servant who taught 2nd grade CCD for over 25 years. She was a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Altar Rosary Society and St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City, where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She loved celebrating others and always made sure she had cards sent out for every special occasion. Joan also loved baking, gardening, playing cards, praying, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City with Fr. Scott Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday, with a C.L. of C. Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m., and again on Tuesday one hour prior to Mass at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
Memorial donations may be made to Putnam County Right to Life or Putnam County CAP.
