Joan K. Tobe NEW CLEVELAND – Joan K. Tobe, 91, of New Cleveland, passed away at 5:08 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at The Meadows of Ottawa. She was born October 12, 1933, in Ottawa to the late Cornelius and Anna (Dulle) Slattman. On August 16, 1952, she married Robert Tobe, Sr., who preceded her in death on February 17, 1990. She is survived by five children: Michael (Doris) Tobe, Robert (Pamela) Tobe, Jr., both of New Cleveland, Shirley Goedde of Columbus Grove, Linda (Carl) Fagan of Leipsic and Mark Tobe of New Cleveland; two daughters-in-law: Marianne Tobe of Glandorf and Lois Tobe of Lima; 29 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren and two on the way. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sons: Roy Tobe and Elmer Tobe; a son-in-law, Dean Goedde; and a sister, Dolores (Leonard) Heuerman. Joan retired from Sylvania/Philips, Ottawa after 25 years of service and was a member of its Quarter Century Club. She was also a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland, it's Altar Rosary Society, Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Ottawa American Legion Auxiliary and Ottawa Eagles. Joan loved spending time with her friends and family, especially traveling with them and playing cards. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland with Fr. Scott Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. A scripture service will begin at 1:45 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland or Putnam County Homecare and Hospice.
