John “Brad” Arms

OAKWOOD – John “Brad” Arms, 59, of Oakwood, passed away at 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Defiance Inpatient Hospice. He was born October 9, 1966, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio to John D. and Linda N. (Scott) Arms, his father precedes him in death, and his mother survives in Oakwood.

He is also survived by a sister: Melinda (Jeff) Spangler of Oakwood; two nieces: Tara (Matthew) Adams of Cloverdale, and Tiffany Spangler of Oakwood; and great-nieces and nephews: Kyra, Karisa and Everett Adams, and Emerson Gamble.

Brad worked for GM Powertrain, Defiance. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Brad was a huge Nascar fan. He attended Roselm Christian Church, Grover Hill.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Rev. Gary Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sherman Cemetery, Oakwood. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
