JOHN J. BRINKMAN
GLANDORF - John J. Brinkman, 84, of Glandorf, died 8:33 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2014 at his residence. He was born April 17, 1930, in Ottoville, to the late Sylvester and Philomena (Mueller) Brinkman. On May 1, 1954, he married Mary Lou Bockrath and she survives in Glandorf.
Also surviving are 4 sons: Jerry (Bevra) Brinkman of Hays, KS, Mark (Cynthia) Brinkman of Pandora, James Brinkman of Glandorf and Don (Lois) Brinkman of Colorado Springs, CO; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Irene Schroeder of Ottawa and Mary Ann Stechschulte of Columbus Grove; and a brother, Ralph (Doris) Brinkman of Ottoville.
John retired as regional salesman for Morman Manufacturing Company after 23 years and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf, Ottawa Knights of Columbus and Ottawa VFW. He was a US Army Veteran during Korea and had attended Ottoville High School. John enjoyed sharing the sweeter things in life with homemade ice cream at family gatherings and "Brinkman's" fruitcake with family, friends and neighbors.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Ottawa American Legion, VFW and Am Vets. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at LOVE FUENRAL HOME, Ottawa with a K of C and Parish rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
