John T. "Eagle" Patton
LEIPSIC - John T. "Eagle" Patton, 69, of Leipsic died at 8:10 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 at The Meadows of Leipsic. He was born March 26, 1945 in Lima to the late Fred and Teresa (Sager) Patton.
He is survived by 3 children: Joe (Christa) Patton of Lima, Lori (Gary) Hermiller of Ottawa, and Hannah Patton of Van Buren; 8 grandchildren; a brother: Bob (Mary Jo) Patton of Lawrenceville, GA; and 2 sisters: Linda (Donald) Funk of San Jose, CA. and Jane (Jim) Williams of Aiken, SC. He was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law: Ann (Dick) Bowers.
John retired from Whirlpool of Findlay after 37 ½ years. He was a Vietnam Navy veteran and a member of the Leipsic Eagles, VFW, and AMVETS. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leipsic. John enjoyed NASCAR, especially Dale Jarrett, and loved the Cleveland Browns, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Saint Louis Cardinals.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with The Very Reverend George Wenzinger officiating. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Ottawa with military rites by the Leipsic VFW and AMVETS. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Putnam County Home Care and Hospice.
