Joseph L. Kuhlman NEW CLEVELAND – Joseph L. Kuhlman, 85, of New Cleveland, died 8:15 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025 at The Meadows of Ottawa. He was born June 12, 1939 in New Cleveland to the late Cyril and Lucille (Ellerbrock) Kuhlman. On November 22, 1958, he married Helen Repko and she survives in New Cleveland. Other survivors include five children: Diane (Mark) Haselman of Leipsic, JoAnn (Wayne) Vennekotter, Greg (Diana) Kuhlman, Jeff (Lynette) Kuhlman and Lisa (Chip) Racer all of Ottawa; 15 grandchildren: Alicia (Eric) Nussbaum, Kyle (Rachel) Haselman, Brandon (Taylor) Haselman, Brian (Heather) Vennekotter, Marissa Vennekotter, Jason (Amanda) Kuhlman, Jeremy (Mandi) Kuhlman, Jessica (Ned) Gerding, Jenelle (Adam) Niese, Mitchell (Cayla) Kuhlman, Maxwell (Jordan) Kuhlman, McKenna (Hunter) Morman, Brianne (Austin) Trisel, Bradley (Dana) Racer and Eric (Alexis) Racer; 33 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way; and siblings: Bill (Jane) Kuhlman, Angie Ricker, and Debbie (Denny) Lammers; and 2 sisters-in-law: Mary Lou Rieman and Nancy Kuhlman. He was also preceded in death by siblings: Norma (Ray) Meyer, Ginny (Donald) Lanwehr, Betty (Jim) Maag Richardson, Janet (John) Repko, Leroy Kuhlman and Earl Kuhlman; and two brothers-in-law: Bob Ricker and Alvin Maag. Joe retired from Philips in Ottawa after 40 years. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland, Ottawa Knights of Columbus, Miller City Sportsman's Club and Delphos Eagles. Joe coached little league, and enjoyed following his grandchildren and great grandchildren's sports and school activities. He and Helen loved camping every weekend. Joe loved playing solo, bowling in K of C tournaments and horseshoe tournaments. Funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland with Celebrant Monsignor Charles Singler and Con-Celebrant Fr. Scott Perry. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., Tuesday and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., Wednesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic. A scripture service will begin at 1:45 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given to Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland.
