KALIDA – Joyce Ann Wehri, 87, of Kalida, passed away at 7:40 a.m., Thursday, May 21, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 25, 1938, in Glandorf to the late Urban and Frances (Gerdeman) Meyer. On January 21, 1961, she married Hubert Wehri, who survives in Kalida.
Other survivors include five children: Annette (Glen) Schroeder, Dan (Ginny) Wehri, both of Kalida, Randy (Katie) Wehri of Wake Forest, NC, Mark (Sue) Wehri of Kalida and Shelley (Bryan) Hoersten of Ft. Jennings; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and seven siblings: Robert (Annette) Meyer of Kalida, Margery (Dennis) Gerschutz of New Bavaria, Marilyn (Carl) Morman of Glandorf, Judy (Jim) Wagner of New Bavaria, Gary (Diana) Meyer of Glandorf, Dianne (Rick) Maas of Miller City and Deb (Jim) Schmitz of Glandorf.
Joyce was a homemaker and previously worked as a self-employed interior painter and wallpaperer. She also formerly worked for Lock 16 from 1997 to 2020. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida, it’s Altar Rosary Society, Rosary Altar Choir, and Catholic Ladies of Columbia where she served as past president. Joyce loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Joseph Varghese officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township. A scripture service will begin at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
