JUAN J. HINOJOSA
LEIPSIC – Juan J. Hinojosa, 77, of Leipsic, passed away peacefully at 12:25 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at St. Rita's Hospital, Lima. He was born October 20, 1936 in Mexico, to the late Jesus M. and Maria (Salinas) Hinojosa. On March 12, 1955, he married Cristela Alafa and she survives in Leipsic.
Also surviving are four children: Arnold (Michele) Hinojosa of Lima, Armando (Cheryl) Hinojosa of Defiance, Anabel (David) Arreguin of Hamler and Alice (Douglas) Perry of Bowling Green; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers: Oscar (Martha) Hinojosa of West Leipsic and Jesse (Vi) Hinojosa of Leipsic.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Josefina Rodrigues.
Juan retired from Campbell's Soup Company in Napoleon after 14 years. Before that, he worked for Libby's in Leipsic for 27 years up to its closing and owned the Mexican Village in downtown Leipsic for 14 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic and a volunteer Fireman for the Leipsic Fire Department from 1979-1983. Juan enjoyed working on small engines and fishing.
A Mass of Christian burial will begin 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. George Wenzinger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Putnam County Council on Aging.
