Julia E. Vonder Embse

OTTAWA - Julia E. Vonder Embse, 59, of Ottawa died 2:58 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2021 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf.  She was born March 4, 1961 in Lima to the late Richard "Lefty" and Rita M. (Erford) Vonder Embse.  On March 21, 1998 she married Leon Fuerst and he survives in Ottawa.

Other survivors include two children: Grant Fuerst and Claire Fuerst both at home; five siblings: Richard (Vicki) Vonder Embse of Bulverde, TX, Jeffrey (Julie Ball) Vonder Embse of Huron, Terry Vonder Embse of Ottawa, Monica (Mike Schaublin) Vonder Embse of Ottawa and Anita (Steve Ferguson) Vonder Embse of Green River, WY; and a sister-in-law, Deb McEllistrem of Columbus.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Rhonda Wilson and a brother, Mark Vonder Embse.

Julia was a homemaker and believed that family was the most important part of life.  She also worked part-time in the cafeteria at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School, as an aid at Ottawa Elementary and Glandorf Elementary and previously at LaRiche Chevrolet in Findlay.  She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a graduate of Bowling Green State University.

Funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  In keeping with social distancing, visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, OTTAWA where a scripture service will begin at 7:50 p.m.  Masks are required at the funeral home and church.  Mass will be available via the church's Facebook page.
