Kaitlyn Zoe Schimmoeller
OTTAWA – Our heart warrior, Kaitlyn Zoe Schimmoeller, 27, of Ottawa, claimed her wings at 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at her residence. She was born on August 18, 1995, in Bluffton to Kevin Schimmoeller and Diane (Croy) Judy. Her father survives in Ottawa, her mother and stepfather Ed Romero survive in Findlay.
Kaitlyn is also survived by maternal grandparents: Ken and Barb Croy of Ottawa; paternal grandmother: Alma Schimmoeller, also of Ottawa; siblings: Jeff Schimmoeller of Findlay, Megan (Nik) Schimmoeller of Kent, Robert (Megan) Schimmoeller of Findlay, Trey (Carly) Judy of Bluffton, Ann-Marie Judy, Samantha Judy, Ben Judy, Alex (Tara) Romero and Gage Romero, all of Findlay; nieces and nephews: Ember and Saxon Romero, Eris Romero, Ronan and Ryder Judy; numerous aunts and uncles; and her loving partner: Asher Welch.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Thomas Schimmoeller, and aunt, Martha Croy.
Kaitlyn attended Ottawa Elementary, graduated from Findlay High School, and Bradford Culinary School, Columbus. She was a member of the Findlay High School Marching Band, and a member of Adult Congenital Heart Defect Clinic at Nationwide Children Hospital, Columbus. Kaitlyn, or Iron Heart, the Unbreakable, the Pure, and the Friend of all Friends enjoyed spending time with her family playing cards and games. She loved doing crafts and baking with her sisters, nieces, and nephews. Kaitlyn liked to play disc golf with her father, take trips to the zoo with family, and any adventure she could get into. She appreciated all the love and care she received at Nationwide. Her family is grateful for the care from Dr. Mah, Dr. Butto, and family doctor, Dr. Houston. Her future goal was to open a food truck with her sister Samantha, that would be carried on as part of her legacy.
Funeral service will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022, at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. Burial will be held at a later date. A visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Monday.
