KAREN SUE FORTMAN
LAKEVIEW, FORMERLY OF OTTAWA - Karen Sue Fortman, 68, of Lakeview, formerly of Ottawa, died 6:05 a.m., Monday, September 30, 2013 at OSU Medical Center in Columbus.  She was born May 13, 1945 in Lima, to the late Roger and Mary Ellen (Croy) Sneary.  On November 25, 1967, she married Tom Fortman who survives in Lakeview.
Also surviving are two sons: Fr. Tony Fortman, CPPS of Glandorf and Michael (Darcy Rieman) Fortman of Centerville; three grandchildren: Megan, Michael and Ashley Fortman; and a brother, Ron (Maddie) Sneary of Columbus Grove.
She was preceded in death by her step-mother, Dorothy (Lammers) Sneary.
Karen worked as a aide for Putnam County Home Heath and Hospice and had been a caretaker for the independent living program at Brookhill Center, Ottawa.  She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russell's Point, the Red Hat Ladies, Indian Lake Eagles and Moose, a volunteer for Putnam County Big Brother's and Sister's, Putnam County Companions to the Precious Blood, Parent's of Priests for the Toledo Diocese and a 1964 graduate of Columbus Grove High School.  Karen loved vacationing in Florida for the winter, playing cards, going to garage sales, traveling, reading, visiting family and friends, attending masses led by her son, going to her grandchildrens sporting events and spending time with her grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Ottawa.  Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa and from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the Mass Thursday at the church.
