Katherine (Brock) Cavin OAKWOOD – Katherine (Brock) Cavin, 83, of Oakwood, passed away at 2:10 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice. She was born October 6, 1941, in Pineville, KY to the late James and Elizabeth (Caldwell) Brock. On August 25, 1961, she married William Cavin, who preceded her in death on February 11, 2016. She is survived by four children: Marilyn Kay (Patrick) Bloomfield of Coldwater, MI, William D. (Diane) Cavin of Paulding, Helen M. Carlisle of Oakwood and Sharon (Terry) Glick of Findlay; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; three sisters: Cuba Phipps, Gladys Jackson and Irene Brock; and three brothers: Grover Brock, Reed (Ricky) Brock, Colsin (Ruth) Brock. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Daniel Carlisle; six sisters: Mary Bullins, Laura Bingham, Helen Hunter, Bertha Hunter, Rachael Brock and Dora Brock; and five brothers: Millard Brock, Ralph Brock, Will Brock, Bruce Brock and Robert Brock. Katherine was a homemaker. She was a member of Continental Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church when she was able, walking, gardening, and being out back on her swing. Katherine loved her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Rev. Kenneth Buell officiating. Burial will follow in Sherman Cemetery, Oakwood. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice.
