Katherine E. "Kay" Caprilla
OTTAWA - Katherine E. "Kay" Caprilla, 95, of Ottawa died at 7:38 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born November 21, 1917 in Baltimore, MD to the late Thomas and Carrie (Miller) Mayo. She was married to Robert Wannemacher who died October 20, 1975, she then married Carman Caprilla who is also deceased.
She is survived by 2 children: Charles (Nancy) Wannemacher and Gail (Jerry) Osting both of Ottawa; 6 grandchildren: Robin (Jerry) Levine of Rockford, MI, Scott (Bobbie) Osting of Ottawa, Anita (Rich) Ross of Ottawa, Jason (Cindy) Osting of Leipsic, Lindsey Wannemacher of North Carolina, and Brent Brickner of Delphos; 8 great-grandchildren: Austin Levine, Madison Levine, Avery Ross, Walter Ross, Kennedy Osting, Easton Osting, Claire Osting, and Blake Brickner. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Charles and Clifton Mayo; and a sister: Hilda Hatter.
Kay owned and operated Wannemacher Jewelers in Ottoville and Delphos from 1945 to 1981 and  she  later was a cook at the Ottawa Eagles. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ottawa; Ottawa Eagles, Ottawa VFW and Ottawa American Legion  Auxiliaries;  and had been on the Ottoville Town Council.
A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa where there will be a scripture service at 2:30 p.m., Ottawa Eagles Auxiliary service at 7 p.m., Ottawa American Legion Auxiliary service at 7:15 p.m., and Ottawa VFW Auxiliary service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
