Kenneth L. Jones

DESHLER – Kenneth L. Jones, 87, of Deshler, passed away at 12:45 p.m., Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Toledo Medical Center. He was born January 12, 1936, in McComb to the late Howard T. and Florence G. (Latta) Jones. On September 29, 1956, he married Phyllis Wagner, who preceded him in death on December 9, 2017.

Survivors include four children: Debra (Mark) Westrick of New Bavaria, Greg (Lonna) Jones of Gilboa, Dr. Cynthia Queisser of Deshler and Dennis (Irene) Jones of McComb; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Marvin (Eileen) Jones of Findlay, Gary (Josephine) Jones of Leipsic and Jeff (Jan) Jones of Seville.

He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kayla Jones; two brothers: Paul and James Jones; and three sisters: Kathleen, Dorothy and Joyce Jones.

Ken was a 1954 graduate of Leipsic High School and a veteran of the US Naval Reserves and Army, serving during the Korean War. He retired from Philips in Ottawa as a journeyman electrician and was a member of the Quarter Century Club and IBEW Union President for many years. Kenneth was a member of Hoytville United Methodist Church and Leipsic American Legion.  He enjoyed traveling to Florida for the winters, loved fishing and camping, but above all, family was very important to him.

Funeral services will begin 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Jen Miller and Rev. Hugh Bowland officiating. Burial will follow at McComb Union Cemetery, McComb with military rites by the Leipsic American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
