Larry Phalen

KALIDA – Larry Phalen, 83, of Kalida, passed away at 5:09 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born November 30, 1940, in Lima to the late Eugene V. and Helen (Gilroy) Phalen. On July 11, 1964, he married Ruth Mae Adkins. She preceded him in death on March 17, 2011.

He is survived by three children: Patrick Phalen, Shawn Phalen, both of Lima and Kelly (Steve) Richey of Kalida; twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Geneva McCann; a grandson, Justin Cash; and a granddaughter, Amanda Cash.

Larry worked in construction for many years and was a US Navy veteran. He enjoyed fishing, working out, making up dad jokes and telling old stories. Larry loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

No services will be held at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
