Obituary

Larry D. Ricker

KALIDA – Larry D. Ricker, 82, of Kalida, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at his residence. He was born January 18, 1944, in Lima to the late Alfred and Alma (Weis) Ricker. On April 15, 1967, he married Alice Goedde, who survives in Kalida.

Other survivors include four children: Amy (Doug) Robbins of St. Johns, FL, Sheri (Everett) Dockery of Terre Haute, IN, Dean Ricker of Kalida and Kathy (Mitchell) Beining of Findlay; seven grandchildren: Madison Dockery, Jackson Dockery, Carter Dockery, Mitchell Obenour, Maya Beining, Maxwell Beining and Ellie Beining; and a brother, Ron (Sarah) Ricker of Kalida.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sixteen siblings: James (Mary) Ricker, Rita (Don) Gibson, Delores Ricker, Norman (Betty) Ricker, Marietta Romes, Urban (Rose) Ricker, Marjorie Oakuley, JoAnn Ricker, Gerald Ricker, Dorothy (Don) Gulker, Donald Ricker, Kenneth (Karen) Ricker, Thomas Ricker, Dennis (Becky) Ricker, Sharon (Dan) Kuhlman and Alfred (Sue) Ricker, Jr.

Larry retired from Ford Motor Company, Lima and volunteered for the Kalida Fire Department. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida, Knights of Columbus, Kalida and Kalida Fish and Game. Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching birds.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Phil Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. A scripture service will held at 1:45 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Kalida Fire Department.
