Laura R. Rigel

LEIPSIC – Laura R. Rigel, 54, of Leipsic, passed away at 8:17 a.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. She was born November 17, 1969, in Lima to the late Kenneth and Marilyn (Thomas) Cupp.  On March 5, 1997, she married Chad Rigel, who survives in Leipsic.

Laura is also survived by three daughters: Grace Rigel, Claire (Reese Mangas) Rigel and Ella Rigel, all of Leipsic; a brother, Keith (Gwen) Cupp of Leipsic; a sister, Ann Daugherty of Winchester, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Ryan M. Cupp.

Laura was a beloved Kindergarten Teacher for Leipsic Local School. She loved her students and aides as her own. She also worked as a licensed cosmetologist. Laura was a loving mother, who devoted her entire life to her family and friends. She supported her girls 100% in all that they accomplished. She never knew a stranger and was called "Momma Laura" by many nonbiological children. Laura was a staple in the community and will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Leipsic High School Gymnasium with Pastor Jimmy Fry officiating. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the school.
