LAURANE E. WALTHER
LEIPSIC - Laurane E. Walther, 72, of Leipsic died 4:18 a.m., Friday, January 10, 2014 at her residence.  She was born December 2, 1941 in Deshler to the late Honorable Charles Gilbert and Mary Pearl (Seiler) Thurston.  On June 21, 1964, she married Dr. Dale Walther and he survives in Leipsic.
Other survivors include three children: Dean (Kara) Walther of Pandora, Darrell (Angela) Walther of Leipsic and Douglas (Allie) Walther of Deshler; five grandchildren: Nicholas Walther, Bradley Walther, Jason Walther, Madeline Walther and Jacob Walther; three brothers: V. Dale Thurston of Pittsburgh, PA, Carroll (Marilynn) Thurston of Bonita Springs, FL and Lowell (Linda) Thurston of Marion, OH; and a sister, Gloria (Jerry) Hissong of Hillsboro, TX.
Laurane worked with her husband at their veterinary office in Leipsic. She had taught Physical Education at Ottawa Hills and Ottawa-Glandorf schools.  She earned her Masters Degree from Bowling Green State University, was a member of Putnam County Republican Women.  She enjoyed flying planes and took her first solo flight on March 25, 1972.  She also enjoyed tennis and photography.  She loved her grandchildren and attending all of their events.  Most of all Laurane was full of faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 13, 2014 at Leipsic United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Patterson officiating.  Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.  Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
Memorial donations may be given to Gideon's, Putnam County Hospice or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
