Leon Sager
GLANDORF - Leon Sager, 89, of Glandorf died at 8:55 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014 at The Meadows at Putnam Acres, Ottawa. He was born December 13, 1924 in Glandorf to the late Louis and Regina (Selhorst) Sager. On November 3, 1951 he married Doris Beckman who survives in Glandorf.
Also surviving are 4 children: Elaine (Steve) Sunderhaus of Ottawa, Lois (Gary) Dickman of Kalida, Julie (Kevin) Laudick of Ottawa, and Robert (Pam) Sager of Ottawa; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 on-the-way. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Norbert Sager and a sister: Philomena Gerding.
Leon was a self-employed brick mason. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and its Men's Society. He was also a member of the Ottawa Knights of Columbus and the Ottawa Eagles. Leon was the founder and past president of Putnam County Land Development.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:00 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a Parish Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. John's Maintenance Fund.
