Leona V. Verhoff
KALIDA – Leona V. Verhoff, 96, of Kalida died 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at The Meadows of Kalida.  She was born March 29, 1917 in New Cleveland to the late Frank and Magdalena (Goedde) Inkrott.  She was raised by the late Henry and Flora Inkrott.  On October 25, 1938, she married Oscar Verhoff and he died on April 29, 1994.
Surviving are 7 children:  Francis (Wy-Lea) Verhoff of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dennis (Donna DeAngelis) Verhoff of Reva, Virginia, James (Agnes) Verhoff of Cincinnati, Ohio and St. Croix, Mary Ann (John) Routledge of New York City, New York, Joan (Kevin) Cavanaugh of Raleigh, North Carolina, Steve Verhoff of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Therese (Stephen) Squeri of Westlake, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother: William Inkrott and a sister: Martha Karhoff.
Mrs. Verhoff was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida and its Altar Rosary Society. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2013 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating.  Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery, New Cleveland. There will be a  lunch following the burial in Holy Family Catholic Church basement.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31 and 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where the CLC will have a service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Memorials may be made to Maryknoll Missions or The Sight Center of Northwest Ohio or a charity of the donor's choice.
